报告题目:Cooperative Resource Allocation in Heterogeneous Wireless Medium

报告摘要: In recent years, there have been a rapid evolution and deployment of wireless networks, and multi-radio devices have become a trend for users to conveniently explore various services offered by different wireless systems. In this presentation, we will discuss decentralized radio resource management in heterogeneous wireless medium, which gives an active role to mobile terminals (MTs). Specifically, an MT with single-network call can select the best wireless network available at its location, while an MT with multi-homing call can determine a required bandwidth share from each network to satisfy its total required bandwidth. The proposed mechanisms rely on cooperative networking and offer a desirable flexibility between performance measures (in terms of the allocated bandwidth per call and the call blocking probability), and between the performance and the implementation complexity.

庄卫华教授简介:
Weihua Zhuang has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada, since 1993, where she is a Professor and a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Wireless Communication Networks. Her current research focuses on resource allocation and QoS provisioning in wireless networks, and smart grid. She is a co-recipient of several Best Paper Awards from IEEE conferences, Outstanding Performance Awards the University of Waterloo, and the Premiers Research Excellence Award in 2001 from the Ontario Government. Dr. Zhuang was the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (2007-2013), the Technical Program Symposia Chair of the IEEE Globecom 2011, and an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer (2008-2011). She is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), and an elected member in the Board of Governors of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (2012-2014).
